Job Description Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks a Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty interested in teaching with our BSN Nursing program in Maui, Hawaii. You will mentor students in person at an inpatient clinical setting in Maui, connecting classroom concepts, simulation work, and real‑world patient care.
Scheduling
Schedule is determined based on course needs and the clinical specialty for each 8‑week session.
Typically, clinical instructors are scheduled for 3–4 consecutive 12‑hour shifts over a period of 1–2 weeks each session.
Additional dates may not be available, and clinical dates are not guaranteed for every session.
Pediatric Nursing Students will demonstrate nursing skills and procedures in an inpatient healthcare center, with a family‑centered focus for children from infancy through adolescence. No teaching experience is required; nurses with solid clinical experience and a completed MSN are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching, and serve the College, community, health system, and profession.
Take responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
Plan clinical experiences for and directly supervise and evaluate nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
Make self‑available to staff at the agencies.
Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on level of performance based on course objectives.
Be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of agency/clinical personnel.
Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base, skill competency, and learning needs.
Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
Contribute to ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.
May teach didactic course content under supervision of the course coordinator.
Keep course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
Work with college administration, staff, and other faculty to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.
Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and departmental and campus policies.
Serve as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students in customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism.
Use relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win‑win negotiation.
Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
Report to the dean or assistant dean; the course coordinator will provide direct oversight.
Handle related duties as assigned and perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
A master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
An unencumbered professional nursing license in Hawaii.
At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in nursing instruction.
Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
Authentic passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Eager to serve students and colleagues with respect and care.
Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose to enrich colleagues, students, and the broader community.
Hawaii nursing license required before accepting any clinical contract for a given session.
Additional Information Compensation: The expected rate for this position ranges between $1,120 and $7,245 per assignment, adjusted for factors such as course taught, experience, licensure, certifications, market, and responsibility.
