Arapahoe Community College seeks a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage general ledger operations, cash accounts, and capital asset accounting. This role ensures compliance with GAAP, state fiscal rules, and internal controls while supporting fiscal services and supervising staff accountants. Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, reconciliations, and journal entries
Monitor and reconcile cash accounts and bank statements
Manage plant funds and fixed asset inventory controls
Supervise and review the work of staff accountants
Prepare year-end financial statements and audit schedules
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience will count towards the education requirement but will not count towards the experience requirement below.
Three (3) or more years of general ledger accounting experience.
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Demonstrated experience with Banner.
Experience in fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, capital construction, and disposals.
