Major Duties

Manage large volumes of inbound and outbound calls, ensuring timely and quality service to clients and partners.

Follow communication scripts and resolve client/partner inquiries on the same day, or during the call.

Contact clients by phone or email with updates when resolution will take longer than 24 hours until the issue is resolved.

Log all client/partner inquiries via phone, email, or fax with detailed descriptions and actions taken in the CRM database.

Seize upselling opportunities when appropriate.

Send out appropriate email responses and complete emails according to schedule.

Maintain system access and knowledge level for each program and attend educational seminars to improve performance.

Provide accurate transactional information to avoid loss situations for the Unit.

Perform functional transaction processing (ACH Transfers, Stop Payments, wires and general maintenance) accurately and without monetary errors.

Identify customer needs, clarify information, research issues and provide solutions or alternatives.

Use initiative for routine matters, referring complex problems to supervisors or experts.

Work effectively as a team member and independently.

Develop a thorough understanding of the business function and work towards proficiency in all job areas.

Knowledge & Skills

Strong phone, verbal and written communication skills.

Active listening and interpersonal skills to handle irate or challenging callers with minimal assistance.

Highly flexible and adaptable to change, able to navigate a fast‑paced environment.

Strong multitasking, self‑motivation, and ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.

Computer literacy; ability to navigate multiple applications and systems simultaneously.

Team‑work capabilities.

Experience

College or university degree and/or relevant proven work experience in a comparable industry.

Experience in a call center or customer support role preferred.

Familiarity with CRM systems, banking terminology (investments, redemptions, ACH, wire transfers) desirable.

Salary Range $43,200 - $64,800 USD. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401(k) and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well‑being benefits. A discretionary bonus program, which may include an equity component, is also offered.
