Job Summary Provides pre‑surgery services to patients by coordinating testing, providing instructions, and maintaining medical records. Administers pre‑surgery care by obtaining blood and urine specimens. Performs clerical functions.

Job Requirements

High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred

Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Experience in electrocardiogram (EKG): Preferred

Licenses / Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS‑AHA) certification: Required

Phlebotomy Certification: Preferred

Essential Functions

Coordinates patient testing, instruction, and record keeping with the Pre‑surgery Orientation team.

Obtains blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary punctures and obtains urine specimens for delivery.

Assists with answering phones, filing, and faxing. Enters patient information into computer systems.

Maintains and cleans supplies needed for laboratory procedures and electrocardiogram (ECG).

Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
