During the first six months, this position will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, managing payables, reconciling accounts, and overseeing commission analysis. As systems mature, the role will evolve to include more advanced FP&A responsibilities, forecasting, KPI reporting, and strategic modeling, transitioning into an even 50/50 accounting and analysis position by year-end.

Key Responsibilities Accounting & Reconciliation

Manage daily accounting operations in QuickBooks Online, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all transactions.

Lead the month‑end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments within 2–3 business days.

Handle accounts payable and receivable, vendor billing, and documentation tracking.

Assist with cash flow management and verify carrier payments for accuracy.

Prepare accrual and cash‑basis financial reports to support internal and external reporting needs.

Support audit preparation, including depreciation, amortization, and prepaid schedules.

Maintain and reconcile commission statements across multiple carriers and product lines (Medicare, Life, Wealth, Ancillary).

Audit commission data within Dinero to ensure accuracy against contracts and carrier statements.

Research and resolve commission discrepancies, underpayments, or overpayments.

Collaborate cross‑departmentally to improve automation and efficiency in commission reporting.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Develop and maintain monthly KPI dashboards and financial performance reports for leadership.

Support budgeting and forecasting models for revenue, expenses, and departmental performance.

Analyze trends in operational costs, marketing ROI, and agent productivity to guide strategic decisions.

Assist in implementing AI‑driven automation tools (QuickBooks AI, ChatGPT analytics) for variance and trend analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

3–5+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, ideally within insurance, finance, or professional services.

Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, financial modeling).

Experience with commission accounting or multi‑carrier reconciliations strongly preferred.

Deep understanding of GAAP principles and month‑end close processes.

Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Experience with Power BI or similar financial analytics tools is a plus.
