Finance Assistant
This group of companies is a UK-based global social enterprise made up of several business units. We are looking for a meticulous and organised Bookkeeper to join our team and help us maintain our financial records with precision.
Job Overview The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions of the company. This includes recording financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
Update and maintain the general ledger
Reconcile bank statements and financial records
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Prepare financial reports and statements
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and audits
Monitor and manage cash flow
Ensure compliance with applicable standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulations
Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reports
Provide support during financial audits
Collaborate with the finance team and other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting
Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) to manage financial data
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
