Multimedia Marketing Specialist

Responsibilities
Join the New Student and Family Programs team and support the student transition experience.
Report to the Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications; part‑time role not to exceed 1,500 hours annually.
Create and edit graphics, photography, and short‑form video for the division’s websites and social media (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook); plan, schedule, and monitor content performance.
Design illustrations, signage, and other visual assets from concept to completion.
Coordinate with vendors and internal/external stakeholders to meet specifications and deadlines.
Support email and news campaigns with layout, imagery, and basic copywriting while following brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
Supervise student interns, providing creative direction, feedback, and professional development.
Grow within the Department and Division through a developmental plan.
Receive an hourly rate of $20.00–$25.00 and VT discount benefits.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, multimedia, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
Experience with social media content creation, including short‑form video (Reels, Shorts).
Ability to develop and implement marketing strategies across multiple channels (web, social media, print).
Basic video‑editing skills (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, etc.).
Strong visual storytelling, detail orientation, and brand alignment.
Excellent time‑management and organizational skills; work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively on multiple tasks.
Availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher‑education or large organization with centralized brand management.
Proficient in digital photography and videography.
Familiarity with project‑management tools (Wrike, Trello, Asana, etc.).
Experience with social media planning tools (Meta, Falcon, etc.).
Professional writing skills and AP style knowledge.
Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design practices.
Experience supervising or mentoring student staff or interns.
