Your Role on the Team Under the general direction of the Senior Assistant Dean for Business and Operations, the Director of Operations & Strategic Implementation supports the execution of strategic and operational priorities for the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS). The role focuses on implementing initiatives that strengthen organizational efficiency, infrastructure planning, research and administrative support functions, and long‑term sustainability. The Director provides project leadership and coordination, working across units to operationalize strategic goals. This position provides direct supervision to the Manager of Facilities Operations and the IT Analyst, with emphasis on aligning facilities, space, and technology efforts to institutional priorities.

What It Takes to be Successful Required:

Broad knowledge of operational planning, project coordination, and implementation of organizational initiatives across administrative or academic environments.

Ability to supervise and provide direction to professional staff (e.g., facilities operations manager, IT analyst) and coordinate cross‑functional teams.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports, proposals, and presentations and effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and campus leadership.

Excellent organizational skills and customer service orientation to effectively manage multiple high‑priority projects and deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex issues, recommend solutions, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and transparency.

Skills to work collaboratively across departments, campus units, and external partners, fostering positive relationships and shared accountability.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and promote a culture of service, professionalism, and operational excellence.

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload and adapt to evolving priorities.

Familiarity with budget concepts, financial planning, or resource evaluation in support of program operations (contextual to role but not primary responsibility).

Preferred:

Knowledge of facilities management concepts, IT operations coordination, or research administration support functions.

Experience in higher education, research institutions, or health sciences environments.

Experience working with space planning, capital projects, facilities coordination, technology implementation, or research infrastructure support.

Preferred Knowledge of space management software, project tracking tools, or workflow systems.
