Senior Software Engineer – Embedded

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Embedded to develop and implement software for embedded systems, designing and debugging firmware, and optimizing system performance and stability. The role involves collaborating with hardware engineers, testing and validating software‑hardware integration, and providing post‑production support.
Rate Range:
$110,000 – $120,000 per year
Job Responsibilities
Guide the architectural design and evolution of software for automated immunohematology instruments.
Define requirements and User Stories for design changes.
Define and enforce software engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance software capabilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Minimum five years of related experience.
Experience in a regulated industry (FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, IEC 62304).
Strong professional software experience in Windows environments.
Experience with embedded real‑time applications written in C, C++.
Experience with real‑time operating systems and multi‑task/multi‑threaded embedded applications.
Experience with setting up and executing the full CI‑CD pipeline.
Experience with image processing, transfer and storage for both high and low resolution images.
Familiarity with a software version control system (Git, SVN, ADO, etc.).
