Job Title Senior Manager - Real Estate Property Tax
Responsibilities Baker Tilly, one of the fastest growing CPA advisory firms in the nation, has an incredible career opportunity for a Senior Manager - Real Estate Property Tax to join our growing State & Local Tax (SALT) practice in Texas! Our SALT practice is made up of 40+ professionals across the U.S., providing a full spectrum of services including Income & Franchise tax, Sales & Use tax, Real & Personal Property tax, Unclaimed Property and Voluntary Disclosure & Remediation by industry needs. As a member of this talented team, you will help clients capitalize on strategic ideas and planning techniques that ensure state and local tax compliance, reduce expenses and enhance cash flow.
The Senior Manager is responsible for providing property tax services to clients. The Senior Manager ensures that the following activities occur at the highest levels: business development, providing client service, reporting, invoicing, collections, and ensuring overall client satisfaction. The Senior Manager ensures the Managers are implementing the Statement of Work for each of all clients, and AppealTrack is used and maintained by Managers. A Senior Manager is responsible for all aspects of property tax analysis and consulting relating to real and personal property taxes. The Senior Manager will assist the Directors in overseeing the management of Managers and Analysts in a positive manner, reviewing the work product and assisting in sales pursuits and client conversations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains long‑term relationships with all clients with the potential for additional property tax division services or services provided by other divisions
Understands the qualification criteria of the other service divisions and maintains capability to explain these services to clients
Continually looks for process improvement opportunities
Interacts with sales representatives to capitalize on client opportunities
Conducts on‑site inspection of client properties and operations when necessary
Presents findings and makes recommendations to clients
Communicates with assessors and attends hearings as necessary
Works with tax officials to achieve maximum tax savings for clients
Maintains excellent knowledge of all real and personal property tax laws, regulations, and court decisions
Updates AppealTrack in a timely fashion with appeal recommendations, valuations, tax rates and corresponding documentation while ensuring the Analysts are doing the same
Develops talent at the Manager level by providing constructive feedback and solutions
Promotes a positive culture that allows professional growth of our people
Identifies potential key hires
Researches complex tax issues
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
Certification required.
6+ years’ experience in property tax consulting
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Maintains appropriate certifications
Ability to meet travel requirements of the job
For California, Colorado, New York and Washington: The compensation range for this role is $134,530 to $255,070. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
