Location & Work Arrangement This role is open to being on-site, hybrid, or 100 % remote, with opportunities in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE.
Job Summary As a Senior Actuary (FSA) – Prophet Modeler, you will lead the development of Prophet models for all Pacific Life products and business cases. You will collaborate with Pricing, Valuation, ALM, Hedging and IT infrastructure teams to provide innovative modeling and reporting capabilities.
How You’ll Help Move Us Forward
Work on model development for new and existing annuity, life, and institutional products.
Perform model development, testing/debugging of Prophet models, peer‑review changes, and act as an internal Prophet expert.
Proactively evaluate and recommend modeling strategies to address business needs.
Lead initiatives that improve and expand existing models.
Partner with IT and functional areas to develop simple, effective, and innovative solutions.
Provide guidance to junior staff on methodology, implementation and testing/debugging.
Support and comply with all Model Risk Management initiatives and Model Steward documentation and standards.
The Experience You Bring
FSA designation.
6 + years of actuarial modeling and coding experience.
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, computer science, finance, mathematics or related field.
Heavy use of Prophet in pricing, valuation and ALM modeling.
Self‑starter who collaborates across business partners.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing long‑term projects.
Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
What Makes You Stand Out
Excellent communication skill.
Experience coding in Python, Visual Basic, and SQL.
Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, pipelines and AWS.
Advanced knowledge of Prophet.
Experience with annuity, institutional and life products.
Experience with ALM/Hedging.
CERA/CFA designation.

Base Pay Range US$163,620.00 – US$199,980.00 (actual compensation depends on experience, qualifications and location). Most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
