Job Summary
This position is located in the Department of Employment Services, Labor Standards Bureau. The mission of DOES is to connect District residents, job seekers, and employers to opportunities and resources that empower fair, safe, and effective working communities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides critical analyses and evaluations of actual or potential effectiveness of current and/or projected program activities in the OWC.
Provides technical assistance to the OWC Associate Director and Supervisors in the development and implementation of improved program operations.
Reviews and analyzes planning and operations activities of major program areas administered by the OWC, including but not limited to Claims Processing, Special Fund, Compliance, and Insurance.
Conducts management surveys, audits, projects and provides advisory services to operating or management officials in the OWC.
Based upon assessments, identifies actual or potential problem areas, trends, and/or areas of significant concern within the OWC.
Develops, recommends, and implements policies for corrective actions necessary to remedy deficiencies in program areas.
Qualifications and Education
Specialized experience: Requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lowest grade level (e.g., if the position is a grade 13, the next lowest grade is grade 12 or equivalent) in the District of Columbia government.
Licenses and Certifications None.
Working Conditions/Environment The work is performed in a normal office setting.

Tour of Duty: Monday – Friday; 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Duration of Appointment: Career Service – Term (Not to exceed 13 months).
Pay Plan, Series, and Grade: CS-0343-13.
Promotion Potential: No known promotion potential.
Collective Bargaining Unit: This position is in the collective bargaining unit represented by AFGE Local 1000 and you may be required to pay an agency service fee (dues) through direct payroll deduction.
Position Designation: This position has been designated as security sensitive; therefore the incumbent will be subject to enhanced suitability screening pursuant to Chapter 4 of DC Personnel Regulations, Suitability, and as such, incumbents will be subject to criminal background checks, background investigations, and mandatory drug and alcohol testing, as applicable.
