Job Overview The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a hybrid position focusing primarily on the Americas Market East Specialty Eye Care. The MSL identifies market needs in Optometry and Ophthalmology to advance clinical applications and drive the adoption of Topcon’s Eye Care portfolio. The MSL supports the development of new clinical applications, educational materials, and executes medical education and training programs for internal and external stakeholders.

Candidate must be located on the East Coast near a major airport.

Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting new products and applications in the market.

Work with marketing to develop materials that use clinical data to substantiate the clinical benefits and unique selling points of products.

Inform medical professionals and business partners about the latest company developments and support training and sales activities.

Identify market needs and support the development of new clinical applications by working closely with clinicians and researchers.

Work with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to ensure company products get visibility in the market through scientific presentations and publications.

Serve as the link between external experts and internal product management or other stakeholders.

Manage investigator initiated trials (IITs).

Manage scientific symposia, clinical advisory boards, and customer focus groups.

Communicate at the same level with leading scientists and clinicians in the clinical and scientific fields of interest.

Represent the company at scientific conferences.

Supporting Education and Training

Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Topcon Healthcare and internal groups to develop training programs and learning materials.

Engage with subsidiary managers to establish training needs of each market and customize courses and materials where required.

Work with the Global Education and Training Team and marketing to design and develop instructional material for end user training courses.

Work with KOLs to create end‑user educational assets detailing clinical use and relevance of company products.

Contribute to train‑the‑trainer sessions for SMEs and regional trainers.

Work with the Global Training Team to design and deliver instructor‑led courses for direct employees and distributors.

Participate in Global Education and Training Team meetings, presenting and sharing knowledge and ideas.

Contribute to the delivery of end‑user training at selected Topcon events, predominantly in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements Education and Experience

Advanced clinical or scientific degree; MD, OD, MSc or PhD preferred.

3+ years of industry experience in life sciences, pharma, or tech is preferred.

Experience in the field of healthcare; experience with ophthalmic imaging is a plus.

Experience with research design and implementation is a plus.

Independent traveler and candidate must be located near a major airport on the East Coast.

Base Pay Expected Base Pay Range: $155,000 to $190,000 Annualized

Bonus Eligibility In addition to base pay, compensation for this position includes eligibility for a 10% annual bonus.
