Electrical Engineer (Commercial Lighting & Power)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing design solutions for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage communications systems. They will also help prepare basic deliverables such as equipment selection, calculations, construction documents, specifications, design analysis, and completion of projects. They should be able to assist the Electrical team on multiple projects, exhibit technical leadership, support to team members, and verify that all work is completed as planned and scheduled. This opportunity is for a Mid‑Level position within the Electrical Engineering department, offering additional opportunities for a leadership role within the company for engineers who perform at an exceptional level.
You will be a core member of the Alphatec Electrical Engineering team. You will work on highly coordinated facilities with an integrated in‑house A/MEP/FP design team to achieve your projects goals. Alphatec Engineers develop building systems that solve new performance mandates for various government agencies, solve modernization challenges and help facilitate life cycle value for the end user.

Responsibilities
Develop design solutions for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage communications systems with integrated architecture and engineering project design teams
Prepare basic deliverables such as equipment selection, calculations, construction documents, specifications, design analysis, and completion of projects
Contribute to Alphatec’s sustainable design initiatives for USGBC and GBI submissions in pursuit of LEED or Green Globe certifications
Assist the Electrical team on multiple projects, exhibit technical leadership, support team members, and verify that all work is completed as planned and scheduled
Conduct building systems survey and prepare assessments
Qualifications
Educational Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and/or MSEE
PE license preferred, pursuit to licensure required
Mid‑Level to Senior Level experience in the design of electrical systems
Proficiency in AUTODESK Building Design Suite (AutoCAD and Revit)
CEM, RCDD, LEED GA or LEED AP BD+C preferred
Broad knowledge of standard codes and compliance methods, including DoD UFC criteria
Strong communication and organizational skills required to undertake multiple projects
US citizenship and valid driver’s license required for government clearance
Experience in all project phases (design, CD’s & follow‑on)
