Welcome to The Midland Hotel, a distinguished property in the Pyramid Global Hospitality portfolio. Located in the bustling heart of Chicago, Illinois, our hotel features 403 stylish guest rooms and 12,589 sq ft of versatile meeting space, creating an exceptional environment for both guests and employees. As a member of our team, you'll work in a dynamic and supportive setting, surrounded by the vibrant energy and iconic architecture of Chicago. We offer diverse positions across various departments, including guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping, spa and wellness, sales and marketing, and more.
Responsibilities
Positive Culture Builder within our People-First organization.
Strategic leadership for HR teams at both properties.
Training and mentoring.
Employee recognition and retention champion.
Impactful leader in employee relations matters.
Strong mentor to HR coordinator, department managers and team.
Compliance with statutory requirements and all IL state laws.
Budgeting and coordination of related activities to provide each department with the personnel, guidance and support necessary to achieve their customer service and business objectives.
Ensuring employees are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by controlling the implementation, administration and monitoring of all training programs.
Ensuring the hotel's HR function complies with all state and federal laws, regulations and court rulings by reviewing current management practices, implementing new procedures and communicating any new requirements.
Maintaining all hotel personnel records and Human Resource files, ensuring confidentiality.
Qualifications
A proven track record as a successful people operations leader as a hotel or resort Human Resources Director.
10 years of progressive Human Resources Director or above experience required.
A college degree or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a college degree, preferably in Human Resources, Hospitality, or Travel & Tourism Management.
Resort, hotel or hospitality experience required, preferably at multiple large properties.
Marriott experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of Federal & State laws pertaining to HR.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving and organization skills.
Ability to multitask in a demanding environment.A commitment to maintaining a positive and organized work environment.
Workday and iCIMS knowledge preferred.
