Job Title AWS Solution Architect (Migration)

Job Description We are seeking an experienced AWS Application Migration Solution Architect to lead the planning and execution of large‑scale application migrations to AWS. The role focuses on assessing legacy application portfolios, defining migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor), and executing migration waves using AWS native services and frameworks. The ideal candidate combines strong cloud solutioning experience with practical migration delivery expertise across complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead AWS Migration Acceleration Programs (MAP) to define migration frameworks, methodologies, and best practices for large‑scale application migration.
Conduct application discovery and dependency mapping using AWS tools such as Migration Hub, Application Discovery Service, and Application Migration Service.
Develop migration roadmaps and wave plans, including effort estimation, risk assessment, and migration sequencing.
Architect target‑state AWS landing zones and integration models aligned with security, compliance, and performance requirements.
Design and oversee migration execution leveraging AWS native services, automation tools, and partner accelerators.
Work closely with application owners, QA, and security teams to ensure readiness, cutover, rollback, and validation.
Recommend modernization paths (containerization, serverless refactoring, managed databases) for selected workloads where applicable.
Provide governance and reporting on migration progress, technical issues, and remediation actions.
Partner with AWS ProServe, internal teams, and external vendors to ensure alignment with migration objectives.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with 5+ years leading cloud application migrations.
Strong expertise in AWS migration and modernization services, including:
Application Migration Service (MGN)
Migration Hub and Discovery Service
Database Migration Service (DMS)
AWS MAP frameworks and tooling
Proven experience with migration assessment and planning, including portfolio rationalization and 6R strategy (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, etc.).
Knowledge of application architectures (Java, .NET, middleware, APIs) and how they map to AWS services.
Experience in cloud security, IAM, networking, and compliance for enterprise applications.
Familiarity with migration validation (functional, performance, UAT) and post‑migration optimization.
AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Associate certification required.
