Overview Cleans and sanitizes the entire processing and packaging area and all production machinery used in any given workday and down days. To ensure the entire plant is kept in a clean and neat condition.

Responsibilities

Must work the weekly down day every Saturday 12:15 am through 10 am; hours may be adjusted as needed.

Correctly wash and sanitize all processing equipment, pumps, and transfer lines, mixers, molding equipment, ovens, silos, and other production equipment.

Clean entire processing work areas including tables, conveyors, floors, walls, overheads, air hoses, and dust collectors, air and electric drops, scales, and wall‑mounted items such as fire extinguishers, sinks, soap and paper towel dispensers.

Empty and clean all trash receptacles in production and warehouse areas.

Keep all production floors clean from product.

Empty and clean bread modules as required.

Operate hydraulic compactor equipment.

Wash plastic curtains in processing rooms and production areas.

Bale residual corrugated.

Follow the master sanitation schedule as instructed by supervisor.

Clean all restroom and lunchroom facilities.

Clean all floors using floor scrubbers, vacuums and mops.

Clean up debris and refuse from exterior of plant.

Adhere to company policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure, Lockout/Tagout procedures and other safety policies.

Maintain a quality‑oriented attitude in the workplace.

Work in a safe and accident‑free manner.

Perform all other jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain a safe work area.

Follow safety procedures.

Maintain proper food safety conditions.

Use Good Manufacturing Practices.

Must be prompt and willing to work overtime as required; weekend availability is required.

The use of Personal Protective Equipment is required.

Qualifications

Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor.

Repeated heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) is involved.

Push and pull up to 1,000 pound modules.

Must be able to work in a hot environment.

Must be able to work above ground at heights up to 20 ft.

Must work in an industrial environment and handle sanitizing chemicals and non‑toxic food products.

Handling of chemicals during cleaning may be required.

Must be able to read and comprehend instruction sheets provided with cleaning chemicals.

Training in forklift and pallet jack operation helpful.

Mechanical ability is required.

Must be able to perform the essential job requirement without accommodation.

Operation of motorized lifts is required.

Working Conditions/Environment Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. The employee may be exposed to non‑ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment, and handling of hazardous sanitation chemicals. The noise level is loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel‑toed/slip‑resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
