SENIOR COST ESTIMATOR
Salary Range: $110k - $120k
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cost Estimator, Principal located in Kettering, OH (Dayton/WPAFB area) to support the EPASS GB contract. This role is part of the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate (BES) and contributes to the CON-IT program, which delivers integrated tools and capabilities for contracting and stakeholder needs. The Cost Estimator will apply advanced cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering, and scientific approaches to support program planning and execution. Responsibilities include analyzing factors impacting lifecycle costs, evaluating contractor financial data using Earned Value Management (EVM), and determining program viability. The position requires expertise in the ACEIT Tool Suite for developing program office estimates and supporting budgetary cycles. Additional duties involve conducting detailed analytical processes, including data collection, mathematical modeling, and drawing actionable conclusions. This is a critical role for ensuring accurate cost projections and supporting decision-making for complex Air Force programs.
Responsibilities
Analyze factors impacting lifecycle costs.
Evaluate contractor financial data using Earned Value Management (EVM).
Determine program viability.
Apply advanced cost estimating methods (analogy, engineering, scientific).
Conduct detailed analytical processes: data collection, mathematical modeling, and drawing actionable conclusions.
Basic Requirements
Master’s degree in a related field with 7+ years OR Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Active Tier 1/NACI clearance and recognized ability to perform tasks independently while leading junior and journeyman personnel.
Extensive experience using the Automated Cost Estimating and Integrated Tool (ACEIT) Suite to build and communicate Program Office Estimates (POEs) for BES Directorate programs.
Advanced knowledge of cost analysis methodologies, including mathematical, statistical, and econometric techniques, with the ability to design, develop, and adapt scientific approaches for complex problems.
Proven ability to analyze management challenges, evaluate alternative solutions, and apply rigorous analytical processes to support program planning, budgeting, and execution.
