Drive student outcomes as the instructional leader of a special education caseload. Plan, deliver, and assess rigorous, backward‑planned lessons aligned with state standards and the KIPP curriculum. Implement all IEP, 504, BIP, 504 Plan, and MTSS interventions with fidelity. Maintain accurate IEP, BIP, and FBA records and ensure timely completion of all documents. Collaborate with general‑education teachers to integrate student support plans and accommodations. Actively participate in professional development, grade‑level, and department meetings. Provide strategic supervision and monitor student safety and engagement in all school functions. Support staff recruitment and engagement, including outreach events and home visits. Adhere to school policies, deadlines, and schedules, and maintain strong attendance. Support the school’s high‑expectation culture by upholding behavior rules, positive behavior systems, and data‑driven interventions. Special Education Responsibilities

Develop, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of special education programs. Maintain IEPs, 504s, and ELL programs; ensure service delivery with fidelity. Liaison with parents via trainings, meetings, and consultations. Provide case management and classroom instruction to students receiving special education supports. Ensure students receive their minutes, accommodations, and modifications in collaboration with the general‑education teacher. Support classroom teachers with understanding student support plans and requirements. Instructional Planning and Delivery

Develop standards‑based unit plans and daily lesson plans. Design and deliver rigorous, backward‑planned lessons. Design and implement assessments aligned with daily objectives. Grade student material and provide feedback and support. Use the adopted curriculum with fidelity and data to adjust short‑ and long‑term plans. School Culture Alignment

Believe deeply in the KIPP mission and equity commitments. Establish and maintain relationships with students and families based on trust and respect. Approach practice with a sense of urgency to maximize instructional time. Establish high expectations for academic work and classroom behavior. Enforce positive behavior systems and monitor behavior data. Additional Responsibilities

Complete MLE coursework and certification requirements. Partner with the Assistant Principal of Special Services and Special Education Teachers to ensure proper implementation of 504s, BIPs, IEPs, and safety plans. Attend designated school functions outside of school hours. Perform necessary support duties including lunch, dismissal, and chaperone duties. Assist with student and staff recruitment, and travel around Denver to other KIPP campuses as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (required). Special Education license or TEE through CDE (required). Spanish bilingual (preferred). At least 2 years of teaching experience (highly preferred). Ability to meet ESSA requirements (required). Availability for after‑school, evening, and weekend meetings and events (required). Commitment to an exceptional student experience and to equity in education. Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Compensation & Benefits
