Interconnection Services Account Manager (Associate - Mid)

Job Summary
Responsible for management of wholesale end‑use (load) and transmission owner (load and tie line) requests and inquiries, Transmission tie‑line (TO‑TO), and Generation IPPs once interconnected in the assigned geographic area or by specific customer segment (certain retail customer interconnections taking transmission service through the operating companies) as directed by AEP leadership. The position serves as the primary contact for the respective area, handling correspondence to RTO questions/requests as listed in the global email box posted in the Transmission Interconnections Requirements. This role logs, analyzes, and provides resolution recommendations for Interconnection and Local Delivery Service Agreement (ILDSA) and TO‑TO modifications or questions within established systems, and responds to interconnected generator questions. It also performs performance monitoring, communicating with internal transmission and distribution planning and contract organizations for both affiliate and non‑affiliate distribution facilities that impact the transmission system within an assigned region. The role requires a thorough understanding of the transmission and distribution electrical system, its components, Terms and Conditions of Service, and General Service tariffs approved by state regulatory commissions. Acting as the transmission liaison for retail customer solutions, the member facilitates customer study agreements with the respective operating company and builds trusting relationships with internal contacts, providing clear and accurate service reliability and power quality explanations. Additionally, this role proactively works with internal and external parties to develop and gather information to support interconnection requests for AEP transmission operations and staff.
