We are currently hiring a
Lead Customs Entry Writer . This position will be responsible for obtaining required clearance documents and information from DHL Customers. The selected candidate will network between Origin, Destination, Brokers and DHL parties including Customer Service, Clearance Production, and Compliance. The candidate will deal directly with companies and individuals via phone, email, fax, and internal networks to gain required information and enter data/information into DHL systems for entry processing and tracking purposes.
Pay:
$31.33 - $41.78 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in processing inbound freight for clearance through U.S. Customs.
Review and process cash disputes including entry and billing corrections.
File PSC 520D, or protests depending on type and liquidation date.
Effectively process shipments to gain clearance information while staying compliant with all government agency rules and regulations.
Contact DHL customers experiencing clearance delays with their shipments.
Provide information to, and communicate with, DHL Origin and destination stations on the status of the shipments being delayed.
Examine invoices, bills of lading and shipping documents to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
Communicate the shipment status and any special handling and delivery processes to all involved parties.
Ensure that all customers’ requested instructions are followed for the entry of their shipments.
Create new Customer Master Files and update existing files as warranted.
Handle U.S. Customs documents.
Skills & Qualifications
HS diploma or equivalent required.
Senior level service, production, or support role having greater responsibility to perform all of the standard work within the function.
Specialized skill training or certification may be required such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), data entry, customer service, and import knowledge.
1 year experience in customer service or imports.
Fluency in a foreign language is a plus.
Customer service skills preferred.
