Responsibilities

Capture high-quality images of events, programs, and community activities.

Create engaging digital content and limited video materials to support communication and outreach efforts.

Manage social media content, including scheduling posts and monitoring engagement and insights.

Assist with video production (recording and editing short‑form videos for social media using a DJI camera).

Edit and enhance images for use on social media, websites, and promotional materials.

Maintain an organized archive of digital assets.

Research and make recommendations for additional photo uses on county websites and social media platforms.

Ensure all content aligns with branding and messaging guidelines.

Support the Public Affairs Department with special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Graphic Arts, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience in social media management, photography/videography, and visual design.

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, InDesign), Canva or other editing/design software.

Strong understanding of social media platforms and content trends.

Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.

Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Supplemental Information

Record and edit short‑form videos for social media and digital marketing using a DJI camera.

Manage social media accounts, including scheduling posts and monitoring engagement and insights, under the supervision of the Video Production Supervisor.

Ensure all content aligns with branding and messaging guidelines.

Physical Demands Requires regular, and at times sustained, performance of physical tasks such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, kneeling, leaping, jumping down, standing in place or continual walking, lifting and carrying moderate to heavy items on a consistent basis in possible various weather conditions.
