The separately incorporated Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAAF) engages in educational, advocacy, and limited electoral activity under 501(c)(4).
Role Overview Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this executive leads and manages all IT infrastructure and operational capabilities, drives infrastructure strategy and planning, and ensures platform stability and 99.999% availability.
Responsibilities
Lead IT Infrastructure and Operations strategy, developing new capabilities and maturing existing processes to build a high‑performing team.
Oversee design, implementation, and management of the organization’s technology infrastructure and operational services, ensuring high availability and secure, scalable solutions.
Partner with the CISO and senior leaders to develop and implement secure, scalable solutions that comply with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Accountable for overseeing Infrastructure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics:
Continuously assess the infrastructure’s health, efficiency, and data maintenance.
Drive performance management to assess operating costs, productivity, and compliance.
Meet and exceed service level agreements (SLAs) and performance expectations.
Engagement
Ensure seamless partnership between DevOps, ITOps, and end‑user services to deliver value and efficiency.
Empower the IT Infrastructure and Operations team and stakeholders to challenge the status quo and embrace change.
Build and mature technology infrastructure and operations in line with ITIL and the CIO operating model.
Maintain strategic, trusted partnerships with PPFA senior executives and stakeholders, aligning business priorities and roadmaps.
Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, providing actionable feedback and participating in quarterly business reviews.
Encourage diverse views, fostering a DEI‑centered culture.
Delivery
Partner with Tech Governance VP on setting infrastructure standards for innovation and continuous improvement.
Own change, incident, request, capacity, and critical incident management as well as continuous improvement for all technology infrastructure.
Manage outsourcing strategy and vendor partners across ITSM, MSP, cloud, and infrastructure services.
Oversee IT Infrastructure and Operations financial and contract management, including budgeting, forecasting, and multi‑year planning.
Deliver infrastructure build‑outs, WAN/LAN, and telephony based on business needs.
Lead technology projects and initiatives to enhance the user experience and enable PPFA’s mission.
Direct implementation of enterprise infrastructure and application changes within agreed standards and SLAs.
Handle other projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, or equivalent.
10+ years of experience managing and directing technology operations and IT functions.
10 years of people management experience.
Strong understanding of project management principles.
Experience in running a modern IT operational organization and integrating DevOps best practices.
Ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
Experience with DevOps and ITSM solutions, aligning standardized processes across service management.
Experience leading cloud migration programs with AWS, Azure, or GCP for redundancy and HA.
Outstanding financial and vendor management skills, including forecasting, budgeting, and multi‑year planning.
Executive presence, expert communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Travel: 0‑10% as needed. Salary: $235,000 – $250,000 per year, plus generous vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, paid family leave, 401(k), and optional FSA and commuter accounts.
