About the Role:
Our client, a private Commercial Real Estate credit platform is seeking a CRE Managing Director with the ability to fully execute the loan life-cycle across Multifamily, Industrial, Retail, Hospitality & value-add office assets (with select special-use assets considered).
This is an opportunity for a true end-to-end CRE lender, someone who can originate, underwrite, structure, close and manage a diverse portfolio of bridge & transitional loans independently. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy in a lean, collaborative environment with direct exposure to senior leadership and investment decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead origination efforts and build relationships with sponsors, brokers, owners, and intermediaries
Conduct detailed underwriting, valuation, market analysis, and sponsor due diligence
Structure bespoke deal terms, covenants, and exit strategies
Negotiate and close transactions, managing all documentation and diligence
Oversee active loan performance, borrower communications, and credit monitoring
Identify early-stage risks and manage modifications, workouts, or restructures when needed
Mentor junior and mid-level underwriting and portfolio staff
Help refine processes, reporting, and platform best practices as the business scales
What You’ll Bring:
15+ years in commercial real estate lending or direct real estate credit investing
Proven track record sourcing & closing bridge, value-add, and transitional CRE loans
Strong analytical, valuation, and financial modeling capabilities
Meaningful sponsor, broker, and market relationships
Ability to negotiate terms, manage legal processes, and oversee complex closings
Portfolio management and workout experience
Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skill, and calm, decisive leadership
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional designation a plus
