THE ROLE As the Director of Business Development, you're quarterbacking the new business function for the agency, focusing on managing the inbound pipeline instead of outbound prospecting. This means fielding initial inquiries, crafting proposals, managing RFPs, and wooing & closing new clients. It blends account management, project management, and strategy. You’ll report directly to the CEO/Co-Founder, collaborate cross‑functionally with key leaders, and work closely with marketing and our parent company Stagwell’s new business team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the inbound pipeline, driving good prospects to close as quickly as possible.

Supervise the Marketing Manager who handles the inbox, basic client communications, NDAs, and intro call prep.

Facilitate intake calls, supporting the CEO.

Lead follow‑ups after intake calls, sending capabilities, case studies, and custom decks.

Evaluate and scorecard prospects, presenting opportunities for leadership review.

Craft bespoke proposals, diagnosing client needs and collaborating with PM, influencer, strategy teams.

Prioritize and chase prospects to close ASAP.

Negotiate scopes, pricing, etc.

Draft SOWs and facilitate MSAs with legal.

Handoff newly won accounts to the Business Partnership team.

Formal RFPs

Quarterback RFPs, including project management and strategic guidance.

Point person for client procurement teams.

Ensure clients receive needed materials on schedule.

Nurture pipeline

Periodically follow up with lapsed leads in the pipeline.

Cold outreach to target brands.

CRM & Reporting

Manage Pipedrive to track and report on new business metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS

10-15+ years of marketing experience, including:

Extensive experience in agency new business.

Extensive experience in social media creative.

Experience working as a social strategist is highly valued.

Fluent in brand building and upper‑funnel marketing.

Deep understanding of social media marketing.

Knowledgeable about the traditional TV‑first marketing approach.

Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross‑functional teams.

Extensive client‑facing experience in past roles, with strong presentation skills.

Strategic mindset, able to think creatively and identify new revenue opportunities.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, using data to make informed decisions.

Experience working with CRM tools such as Pipedrive.

BASE SALARY RANGE Our estimated range for this role is $140,000-165,000* Actual compensation packages are based on the level of skill and experience each candidate brings. If a senior or junior position better matches your expertise, we assess the fit accordingly. We pride ourselves on competitive salaries and pay equity across the company.
