Marketplace Strategy and Operations Director / Senior Director
Here at Zola, we’re seeking an exceptional Marketplace Strategy and Operations Director, Zola for Vendors to help drive our fast-growing Vendor Marketplace platform. This business is at an exciting stage of growth. We’re looking for a collaborative, scrappy, analytical problem‑solver who can help grow this critical area of Zola’s business. You’ll report directly to the GM & SVP of Vendor Marketplace, and you’ll partner closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and many other teams at Zola.
Responsibilities
Being the “Vendor Marketplace business authority”
Informing the growth strategy, in partnership with the GM, and owning the execution of key pieces of that strategy
Deeply understanding what’s working and not working; digging into complex/ambiguous data to surface actionable insights and strategies
Leading cross‑functional teams on projects to help us grow
Refining the business model
Building ambitious annual plans for the business unit, then analyzing and reporting on performance along our primary KPIs
Conducting business and financial analysis of new offerings/ideas
Partnering with BI & Data Analytics teams to build out the data and analytics infrastructure for Vendor Marketplace
Deeply understanding our Wedding Vendor customer group and thinking creatively about how to serve them better
Conducting and analyzing customer research; sharing insights widely within the team and company
Partnering as needed with Marketing and Business Development as they develop messaging, campaigns, and partnerships
Collaborating with Product to identify new features, offerings, and opportunities, and supporting them in analysis on performance
Qualifications
BA/BS
7+ years of professional experience in a fast‑paced environment working in strategy, finance, bizops, growth, consulting, or another related field
Startup or other operating experience strongly preferred
Exceptional business and customer experience judgment
Superior written and verbal communication skills; presents effectively to a senior audience
Excellent quantitative and Excel skills; familiarity with SQL is a plus
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks in a fast‑paced, highly ambiguous environment
Ability to build business relationships across functional teams
Salary Range The salary range for this role is $155,000 - $175,000. This full‑time role will be hybrid at our office in NYC (Tuesdays & Thursdays).
