Position Summary As a Senior Architect at DLR Group, you will lead the architectural vision and execution of projects from concept through completion. You’ll guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver design excellence, technical precision, and innovative solutions that enhance the built environment. This role combines creative leadership with hands‑on project management—ideal for a licensed architect who thrives in leading people, shaping ideas, and ensuring design intent is realized through every phase of a project.
What You Will Do
Lead architectural project teams in the development of design concepts, technical documents, and coordinated deliverables
Direct and mentor team members, fostering collaboration, growth, and accountability
Oversee project execution to ensure quality, design integrity, and adherence to budget and schedule goals
Coordinate with engineering, interiors, and other disciplines to deliver fully integrated design solutions
Communicate design intent and technical direction clearly to clients, consultants, and internal teams
Serve as a trusted design and technical resource within the studio, guiding decisions that balance creativity, constructability, and performance
Review and refine project documentation to ensure compliance with firm standards and QA/QC protocols
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development activities to strengthen relationships and support new opportunities
Contribute to a culture of design excellence, continuous learning, and professional growth
Required Qualifications
Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program
Licensed Architect with demonstrated experience leading projects and multidisciplinary teams
12+ years of professional experience in a commercial design firm
Proven ability to guide project delivery from design through construction
Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam, with strong technical documentation skills
Comprehensive understanding of building systems, materials, and construction processes
Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining design quality and attention to detail
Collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and developing others
Preferred Qualifications
LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainability certification
Experience leading large or complex architectural projects across multiple sectors
Familiarity with digital design tools and emerging technologies that support project efficiency
Active participation in professional or community design organizations
Demonstrated thought leadership through teaching, speaking, or publication
