About the Role Musely is seeking a strategic, hands‑on Vice President of Finance to lead all aspects of accounting, financial planning and analysis. The ideal candidate will be an experienced finance executive who thrives in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented, start‑up environment and can balance strategic foresight with operational excellence. This role will establish efficient and scalable processes across financial management, accounting, contract compliance, and procurement, and more.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Vice President of Finance will play a critical role in both short‑term financial operations and long‑term strategic planning. This role will partner closely with the executive leadership, operations team, and department heads to drive company‑wide financial decisions, oversee budgeting and forecasting, and support data‑driven growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering with the COO, and department heads to drive Musely’s strategic growth initiatives
Develop and execute long‑term financial strategies aligned with company objectives and profitability goals
Provide financial insights and guidance on company performance, growth opportunities, and business risks
Provide decision support to the operations team in analyzing margins, purchase price and production variances and other associated operating costs
Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing finance and accounting team
Operations & Performance
Lead all aspects of financial operations, including Financial Planning & Analysis, accounting, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and more
Oversee accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital allocation to ensure financial health and efficiency
Develop scalable financial systems, processes, and tools to support rapid growth and operational excellence
Partner cross‑functionally to optimize business performance through data‑driven analysis and financial modeling
Partner with Operations to improve gross margin, through careful identification and management of cost trends
Work closely with the Supply Chain Team on inventory controls and management including physical inventory counts. Implement key reporting for managing inventory which includes detailed reporting on inventory type and turns, cycle count reporting, and forecasting/ reporting on absorption
Qualifications
5-10 years of experience in relevant experience managing projects & high‑visibility initiatives
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required
MBA/Masters and/or CPA degree preferred in accounting, finance, or related field
Background in telemedicine, healthcare, or experience managing physical inventory, supply chain, and manufacturing of goods required
Demonstrated ability to pull together insights from a variety of sources and develop strategic guidance for brand teams that result in a business decision or action
Strong business and marketing acumen and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills; ability to gain consensus and act within a matrix team environment; ability to work in a collaborative and influencing fashion that drives business action
Proven history of working and delivering on multiple projects simultaneously, with tight deadlines and changing priorities
Experience in scaling financial operations of a business to $50-100M+++ in revenue and beyond, having been through an IPO process before desired.
