Meets and exceeds revenue goals by developing new group accounts and growing current hotel accounts in a profitable and win‑win selling approach. Direct Sales
Target results‑oriented, high revenue potential sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with goals established by department budget and marketing plan. Must have own reliable transportation and possess a valid state driver’s license in order to make sales calls. Key Account Management: maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth. Achieve a minimum of 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals, as established by management. New Account Development
Capture competitor’s accounts through networking, research and reader board surveys to target and solicit those most probable to generate new business. Acquire referrals from existing accounts, follow up on all leads within 48 hours of receipt to create new business for the hotel, and, when appropriate, send leads to other Sage hotels. Plan and implement an ongoing Targeted Account Development "hit list" to create new revenue and acquire valuable hotel contacts and contracts. Continuously target and prospect for new business through telemarketing, individual creativity and innovation. Yield Management
Utilize yield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitments to enhance the hotel’s financial performance. Account service and management. Maintain a well‑documented, accurate, organized and up‑to‑date file management system to serve clients and employers expediently and knowledgeably. Develop strong customer relationships through frequent communication and professional, courteous, ethical interpersonal interaction. Develop customer profiles and maintain an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, to best meet client needs and increase revenues. Promptly follow up on all customer needs and inquiries efficiently. Product Knowledge
Conduct research, surveys, personal investigation, and studies of the marketplace and territory to effectively capitalize on the hotel’s strengths and competitors’ weaknesses and capabilities. Time Management
Focus on revenue‑producing activity and maximize selling time by dedicating a minimum of 90% work time to direct sales efforts. Professionalism: control expenses while traveling on the property’s behalf to minimize department and hotel costs. Represent oneself, the hotel and Sage Development Resources, Inc. with the highest integrity, professionalism, a service‑focused approach, and a caring, sincere attitude at all times. Exhibit a positive and involved team attitude with all hotel departments and maintain open communication with co‑workers for best overall performance. Display a neat, clean, and business‑like appearance at all times. Education / Formal Training
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred. Experience
Six months minimum in sales or customer service related position, or hotel experience preferred. Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of general sales techniques. Yield management experience. Highly developed customer service skills. Ability to hear, speak, read and write English fluently. 12th grade level mathematics, spelling and reading skills. Effective business writing skills. Ability to meet clients on and off premises, tour property, attend functions, climb stairs, use door keys and operate basic office equipment. Vision to read fine print and computer screens, see colors, and observe rooms in poorly lit conditions. Understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Work on more than one task at a time. Develop strong internal and customer relationships. Set and manage priorities and plan activities in advance. Solve problems and make sound business decisions. Respond to coaching, feedback and training. Strong and effective sales skills. Physical Demands
Bending and kneeling—repeated bending and kneeling required while filing. Mobility—must be able to reach all areas of the hotel to assist clients; occasional standing. Occasional carrying and lifting of files and office items up to 25 lbs. Environment
