Overview
The position is a 12‑ to 18‑month contract for a Business Analyst with extensive experience in IT project and application development. The role will be based at 1401 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA, with a hybrid schedule requiring in‑person attendance three days per week.

Hybrid: 3 days per week required at 1401 East Broad Street
In‑person interview required
5+ years of Business Analyst experience in IT projects. IT software/application project experience required.
Key Responsibilities
Review, analyze complex processes and systems, breaking them into manageable parts.
Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to gather requirements.
Write clear, testable functional and non‑functional requirements.
Prepare diagrams (Data Flow, UI/UX wireframes, swim‑lane, flowchart) to communicate changes to technical staff and executive management.
Assist with system integration testing and User Acceptance Testing.
Manage product backlog, epics, features, user stories, tasks, test plans, and test cases using Azure DevOps (TFS).
Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies; maintain sprint backlog and support SAFe or Kanban implementations.
Translate technical language to business users and vice versa, negotiate priorities, and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
Oversee rollout of new systems/processes and manage user adoption.
Required Qualifications
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with root‑cause analysis.
Knowledge of enterprise software such as Oracle and SQL Server; understanding of SQL, APIs, data flow diagrams.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience translating client and product strategy into application requirements and user stories.
Experience documenting high‑level test strategy, test plans, test cases, and executing test cases.
Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall project methodologies, including SAFe.
Experience performing business process modeling (swim‑lane, flowchart).
Strong background in user adoption and change management.
Desired Experience
5+ years as an Agile Business Analyst.
Experience organizing and maintaining sprint and product backlogs.
Experience translating client and product strategy requirements into application requirements and user stories.
Experience with Agile/Scrum, Scaled Agile, and Kanban.
Strong familiarity with Azure DevOps (TFS).
