Job Summary The
Business Analyst
will play a key role in supporting the Data Visualization team by gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements into actionable insights and visual solutions. This role focuses on improving decision-making through effective data storytelling, dashboard optimization, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met through accurate and meaningful data visualization.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison between DLA Legislative Affairs and internal/external stakeholders to gather, document, and refine business and reporting requirements.
Analyze existing business processes related to legislative tracking, reporting, and data management to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Develop and maintain business process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and data governance standards.
Support the consolidation and organization of congressional inquiries, reports, and legislative actions to ensure timely and accurate responses.
Prepare clear, actionable business reports and briefings for leadership on legislative trends, priorities, and pending issues.
Facilitate coordination meetings and ensure alignment between DLA offices, ensuring that policy and legislative priorities are consistently represented.
Assist in the development of dashboards or performance metrics that measure legislative engagement effectiveness.
Provide quality assurance over legislative data inputs and ensure consistency across systems and reports.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
Proven experience working with data visualization tools is a plus.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentation purposes.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.
Work Environment & Schedule
Hybrid role: Primarily remote with 2 days of on-site work at Fort Belvoir, VA (Wednesdays/Thursdays).
