Job Description Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights every other weekend Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Must-Have: Experience in managing respiratory therapy equipment and treatments
Description: Responsible for managing all respiratory therapy equipment and treatments. Average treatments per day range from 36 to 42 during a 12-hour shift. Involves treating adults, pediatrics, and NICU patients across inpatient settings. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience if licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). If licensed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), a minimum of 3-5 years of experience is required. Travelers are welcome and there is support available for first-time travelers. If assigned to the NICU, knowledge of Naturally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAVA) on specific ventilators is essential. Will be responsible for administering treatments, performing transports, and managing arterial blood gas (ABG) assessments. Travelers will assist with intubation but not perform it independently. Hospitalists and intensivists are available in-house 24/7. A lead therapist is present on each shift to oversee operations. Typically, there are multiple respiratory therapists on duty during shifts. Variety of equipment used includes Draeger and Servo U ventilators, BiPAPs, and high-flow delivery systems. Shifts will be scheduled based on demand, with attempts to accommodate block scheduling. Mandatory weekend and holiday shifts apply if working during that period. Floating to other facilities may be required. Dress code requires clean and professional attire in any color.
