Compass is looking for a passionate, service-driven

General Manager

with an extensive premium foodservice background to oversee their Amazon Culver City campus. This role will be responsible for overseeing all outlets and departments on the property, with a focus on elevating service standards, staff training & development, and supporting with high touch catering and event operations. The ideal candidate is a resourceful, multi-faceted food & beverage operator who thrives in high-touch, guest-centric settings and has an eye for luxury, premiere service. Prior multiunit experience, ideally in the premium food service, corporate dining, or sports & entertainment sectors is highly preferred. It is imperative that this person have a collaborative, hands‑on approach to leadership, a high degree of adaptability, and impeccable attention to detail in order to oversee and inspire a large, diverse team and manage multiple competing responsibilities at once.

Of note, while the campus is a largely Monday‑Friday operation with day-oriented hours, the GM must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed to support occasional weekend and evening events as business dictates. Oversee daily operations of dining, catering, events, culinary operations, and service delivery across all departments and outlets on property

Establish and uphold company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs

Ensure consistent quality and premiere hospitality across all service periods and outlets

Continuously strive to develop staff by proactively coaching and motivating team members, focusing on specific, measurable outcomes to ensure clarity and accountability

Build and nurture hospitality-focused teams by setting expectations, recognizing achievements, and aligning performance goals with company goals

Work in close collaboration with a diverse team and multiple departments to drive innovation and best practices

Act as a resource to culinary teams, working closely with culinary leadership to drive menu development and operational enhancements

Oversees that all policies, forms and procedures are consistently and properly executed by departments property-wide

Maintain, support, and promote company culture and philosophies

Work to standardize any manuals or forms that can better help streamline operations onsite

Conduct event walkthroughs and interact with team members, guests, partners, and VIPs while exceeding guest expectations

Manage budgets, P&L, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement

Hold teams accountable to high standards while remaining hands on and leading by example

Monitor overall property performance to identify emerging trends and areas of opportunity, including new technology or service models and enhance guest experience through personalized interactions

Develop strong relationships with clients and guests to maximize satisfaction and retention

Provide structures, support and training for new projects and help evaluate potential opportunities

Exceptionally detail oriented with ability to streamline guest experience and satisfaction

Dedicated to guest service, experience, and employee retention

Responds to guest concerns in a timely manner, both written and verbal, with the ability to creatively solve problems

Guide food safety & sanitation efforts and maintain exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, safety, and sanitation across all outlets

Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements

Candidate Qualifications:

5+ years of progressive food & beverage leadership experience preferably in the premium foodservice, sports & entertainment, luxury hotel, private club, or comparable industry sector; i.e. General Manager (GM), Food & Beverage (F&B) Director, Director of Premium, Department Manager, Multi-Unit GM, Service Director, Executive GM, Director of Outlets, or comparable title

Prior multiunit experience is strongly preferred

Experience in premium, high-volume hospitality and/or food service concepts is required

Bachelor’s degree highly preferred

Passion for food, hospitality, retail, and service

Strategic background with the ability to manage daily accountability of departments while fostering a high-performing team of multiple direct reports

Meticulous attention to detail and very systems-oriented

Enthusiastic about growing individual employees and providing a positive work environment

Strong leadership, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with a desire and willingness to work side by side with teams on site to ensure seamless execution of service

Energetic, positive, reliable and dependable

Proven ability to elevate guest satisfaction through personalized service, innovation, and attention to detail

Strong degree of adaptability and able to manage multiple competing priorities at once with little oversight

Ability to thrive in a high-pressure work environment

Excellent financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management

Outstanding problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset

Knowledge of industry regulations, health and safety standards, and compliance requirements

Hands-on, humble approach to operations and training with an eye for identifying and implementing strategic solutions

Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and hospitality analytics platforms

Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed

Food Safety Certification

Able to stand/walk for long periods of time

Compensation Package Includes:

Base Salary in the $90-115k range DOE
