Associate Director of Capital Planning and Shelters The Associate Director of Capital Planning and Shelters works closely with the Senior Director of Facilities and Capital Planning to manage all capital projects and provide comprehensive oversight of shelters. Specific duties include project budget tracking, contract management, field management, and oversight of all facilities, maintenance and housekeeping at Shattuck Shelter and Holy Family Inn.

Compensation:

$83,400 – $104,000 annually.

Schedule:

40 hours, Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., including holidays as necessary and 24/7 on‑call availability.

Location:

444 Harrison Ave., Boston and other Pine Street Inn locations as needed.

Responsibilities

Manage capital projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and budgetary constraints.

Oversee all shelters, including field management and facilities maintenance.

Track project budgets, monitor costs and reconcile contracted prices with services received.

Obtain necessary permits and coordinate with general contractors for PSI projects and renovations.

Prepare contracts for materials and labor, oversee procurement and payment processes.

Implement proactive risk mitigation measures and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications Education and Training

High school diploma or GED.

Valid driver’s license and ability to meet all PSI Safe Driver Criteria.

Minimum eight years of experience in maintaining building systems and leading diverse teams.

Ability to be certified on snow removal equipment.

Preferred Education and Training

Experience in facilities contracts management.

Ability to read architectural and engineering plans.

Experience in permitting and inspection processes.

Able to evaluate bids and review contract parameters.

Certification in Facilities Management.

Expense line management experience.

Knowledge and Experience

Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong working relationships with team members and stakeholders, establishing clear standards for performance while adeptly scheduling projects and securing essential resources.

Proficient in project management methodologies, showcasing exceptional skills in planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.

Comprehensive knowledge of building trades, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.

Expertise in conflict resolution and negotiation, fostering a collaborative environment.

Strong analytical skills, capable of assessing project progress and performance metrics.

Proven track record of managing budgets and financial resources.

Ability to lead cross‑functional teams through all phases of project lifecycles.

Commitment to adhering to safety regulations and best practices in construction.

Three plus years of relevant experience in construction project management.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

Proficient in utilizing project management and facilities management software.

Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and green building certifications.

Strong communication skills, adept at articulating project objectives and updates to stakeholders.
