Special Education Teacher (2025-2026 School Year) [Immediate Start] Position: Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate Setting) for middle school and high school at multiple locations. Salary $62,000-$80,000 based on experience, with relocation stipend for moves 75 miles or more from Denver.

THE ROLE Our Mild/Moderate Special Education Teachers are leaders who help students with disabilities feel welcomed, recognized, and challenged to pursue their most ambitious post‑secondary goals.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as IEP case manager for a portfolio of students: write data‑driven IEPs, develop goals, monitor progress, deliver targeted academic and behavioral interventions, and celebrate success with teachers and families.

Partner with general‑education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications consistently, and advocate for diverse learners on the MTSS Team.

Supervise and develop paraprofessionals as needed to support students in their IEP‑defined services.

Co‑teach and push‑in rigorous, culturally responsive, grade‑level content with general‑education partners using DSST curriculum resources.

Track student growth with high expectations, using varied assessment tools to guide instruction and support proficiency.

Promote a unified, positive classroom and school culture, validating student cultural identities and maintaining trusting relationships.

Engage in professional development, coaching, and feedback with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Participate in additional duties such as student recruitment, after‑school tutoring, and other school community contributions.

Minimum: Holding a teaching license and a special‑education endorsement. You may obtain a Colorado Special‑Education endorsement through the Colorado Department of Education.

Ideal: Proven commitment to and experience serving students of color, students with disabilities, multilingual students, and positive‑behavior supports for academic, communication, executive functioning, behavioral, and socio‑emotional regulation.
