Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well‑capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure‑play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin‑off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description We’re looking for a
talented and innovative podcast video editor
to join our team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with producers to craft engaging daily audio and video podcast episodes, while also creating standout social media assets, promotional content, cutdowns, and lifts that amplify our storytelling.
PLEASE NOTE:
This is a project/limited‑term position, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
Job Duties
Collaborate with producers and host to craft sharp edits of the video podcast, audio version, and social assets that are compelling and grab the viewer
Ingest, transcode, and synchronize footage and audio for editing, as necessary
Maintain a library of shared video and audio assets
Maintain an archive of past episodes and relevant media
Perform basic color correction, and integration of motion graphics, as needed
Proficient with audio post‑production; mixing, mastering, and cleanup
Maintain factual accuracy and editorial soundness of the content, with meticulous attention to technical detail
Prepare and deliver final cuts for a variety of broadcast and digital platforms, adhering to established specs and process
Qualifications
At least 3 years of professional experience as a video editor, ideally in a news environment
In‑depth understanding of a digital news editorial content production process
Demonstrated ability to produce exceptional video content, supported by a portfolio showcasing expertise in video editing, visual storytelling, and digital production techniques across multiple platforms
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, with advanced expertise in Adobe Premiere and a strong understanding of professional video editing workflows
Enthusiasm for social media, emerging technologies, and the rapidly evolving media landscape, with a keen interest in staying ahead of digital trends
Basic knowledge of sound design
Basic knowledge of color correction
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of Riverside, Descript, and other digital‑first tools and NLEs
Knowledge of Pro Tools or other professional audio production software
Experience with professional recording equipment, including audio consoles, microphones, and field recorders
Experience in a Broadcast News production environment and/ or working on a daily video podcast
Experience shooting with a variety of professional video cameras, DSLRs, etc.
Experience shooting and lighting multi‑cam shoots, both in studio and in the field
Additional Job Requirements Hybrid:
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
What we’ll offer: Production Employee (PEP) Regular who works more than 1,000 hours per measurement period
Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months
Eligible for Health and Welfare benefits on 1st day of employment
Eligible to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program after 90 days of employment
Salary Range: $93,000 - $110,000
