Pay Range and Compensation Base pay range: $29.74/hr – $29.74/hr. Additional range: USD $18.00 – $29.74 / hr as provided by MedStar Research Institute, Inc.
Responsibilities
Receives and signs for materials, equipment, and supplies delivered on purchase orders, articulating all aspects of the Materials Management Department process when required.
Assists in the unloading of trucks at the door and delivers received supplies to various departments.
Demonstrates proficiency in handling packages containing radioactive materials, as identified by hospital and regulatory agencies.
Inspects and reports materials for conformity to purchase order specifications—description, size, amount, packaging, and condition.
Works with the Supply Chain Services Department to maintain adequate levels of product within the storeroom and participates in daily and yearly inventory reports, noting discrepancies found on vendor shipments for adjustments.
Enters receiving data into the computer system to provide the necessary information for the order/receipt/payment cycle.
Communicates effectively with customers and the MedStar CBO, solving errors and resolving PO issues.
Maintains accurate daily records of all transactions, securing signatures of receipt from requisitioning departments to complete the receipt and delivery audit cycle.
Adheres to The Joint Commission and safety policies, physically replenishing supplies stored in the warehouse.
Pulls supplies from storage shelves based on requisitions, ensuring correct items and amounts are prepared for delivery within prescribed turnaround time.
Wraps packs and prepares parcels and goods for delivery.
Assists in inventory requisitioning, receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for supplies.
Maintains and cleans equipment and areas following established procedures.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Exemplifies Commitment to Caring (Patient Experience Service Standards and Spirit Values) and actively participates in patient safety standards and tasks.
Assumes other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the position and area.
Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
1–2 years of warehouse shipping, receiving, and inventory knowledge or experience.
Experience with packing, wrapping, and handling supplies preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient computer skills.
Ability to learn duties and responsibilities on the job.
Accurate record keeping, understanding and following written and oral instructions, able to perform physical labor.
Adaptability to a healthcare environment and effective oral and written communication.
Basic mathematical proficiency and reading at a tenth‑grade level.
Problem‑solving and research skills for error resolution.
Team‑player attitude and willingness to cover supplemental areas when needed.
Adaptability to evolving technology to maintain state‑of‑the‑art operations.
