Job Title: Senior Human Resources Administrator – West Coast
Reports To: Regional HR Manager / Director of Human Resources
Industry: Food Manufacturing & Distribution
FLSA Status: Exempt
Note: This operation runs 24/7, and individual schedules are determined by volume and client needs. Weekend availability is required and the facility is only closed three days each year.
Position Summary The Senior HR Administrator – West Coast plays a key role in supporting HR operations across multiple food manufacturing and distribution facilities. This position is fully onsite and requires frequent travel (approximately 75%) to ensure consistent HR practices, compliance, and employee engagement across all West Coast locations. The Senior HR Administrator will lead HR-related projects, partner with site leaders to support the workforce, and help drive process improvement initiatives aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary HR support for multiple West Coast facilities, ensuring consistent application of company policies and procedures.
Oversee day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
Travel frequently to various manufacturing and distribution sites to provide in-person HR guidance and support.
Manage and execute HR-related projects such as system implementations, process improvements, and policy rollouts.
Partner with plant leadership teams to promote employee engagement and ensure a positive workplace culture.
Coordinate recruitment and training efforts in collaboration with site managers and the corporate HR team.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (California experience strongly preferred).
Support benefits, payroll, and leave administration as needed.
Assist in investigations, audits, and employee relations matters.
Track and analyze HR metrics such as turnover, retention, and engagement trends.
Serve as a resource to managers and employees, fostering strong communication and trust across all levels.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Strong project management experience with the ability to drive HR initiatives across multiple sites.
In-depth understanding of HR compliance, employment laws, and best practices.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with onsite and regional teams.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
Experience in a union or regulated manufacturing environment.
Schedule & Travel Full-time, onsite role with up to 75% travel throughout the West Coast region (including overnight travel).
