Psychiatry Residency Program Director
Overview:
Provide academic, administrative, and clinical leadership for an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program. Ensure excellence in resident education, faculty engagement, and accreditation compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Overall supervision, direction, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the residency
Recruit, develop, and evaluate faculty; support faculty development and scholarly activity
Recruit and mentor residents; ensure robust advising, feedback, and professionalism
Maintain full ACGME compliance, including policies, assessments, scholarly activity, and CCC / PCC functions
Collaborate closely with the DIO / GME office and other program directors on institutional initiatives
Coordinate medical student education and academic affiliations; serve as primary education liaison
Maintain strong board outcomes (ABPN) and in-training exam performance
Oversee resident rotation schedules, clinics, on-call structures, and conflict resolution
Support clinical research, QI, and community-focused scholarly work
Maintain personal board certification, CME, and clinical excellence as a role model
Participate in applicable medical staff committees and institutional initiatives
Qualifications (for one or both roles)
MD / DO with ABPN board certification in Psychiatry (board‑eligible considered with timeline to certification)
Eligible for unrestricted state medical license and DEA registration
Demonstrated leadership in clinical operations, program development, and / or academic administration
Prior residency leadership experience strongly preferred for the Program Director role (e.g., PD / APD, core faculty with significant administrative responsibilities)
Meets ACGME Program Director eligibility criteria for Psychiatry
