Platform Engineer with Security Clearance
Location: McLean, Virginia
We need a Platform Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and secure platform infrastructure that supports Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads and data integration efforts.
Responsibilities
Serve as a Platform Engineer for the organization.
Design, deploy, maintain, and secure platform infrastructure.
Support data integration efforts and optimize infrastructure for AI workloads.
Conduct on-site installations and maintenance, traveling up to 20% of the time as required.
Qualifications
Extensive experience with Kubernetes clusters, including designing, deploying, securing, maintaining, and upgrading highly available and scalable clusters (EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, or self‑managed) with full control plane and worker node interactions.
Proficient with Docker and containerization best practices.
Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts.
Expertise in securing Kubernetes environments and network security.
Experience optimizing resources and implementing best practices for cluster tuning.
Hands‑on experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools including Terraform, Pulumi, and CloudFormation.
Experience with Helm charts for customizing Kubernetes application packaging and deployment.
Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
Background in Linux/Unix systems, including networking, file systems, and process management.
Relevant certifications: CKA, CKAD, CKS, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
Experience with Kubernetes operators and custom resource definitions (CRDs).
Experience building internal developer platforms (IDPs).
Must have current IAM Level II to satisfy DOD 8570 IAT requirements.
Active DoD TS/SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph (CIP) Clearance.
