About the Role We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer with a strong technical background in marine systems and vessel repair services to join our growing team in Virginia. This role focuses on developing and maintaining relationships with shipowners, operators, and repair yards to promote solutions for the maintenance, overhaul, and upgrade of onboard marine systems. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical expertise and customer needs, providing reliable solutions that enhance vessel performance, efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with customers in the commercial maritime sector, including shipyards, fleet operators, and marine service providers.

Promote and sell repair, maintenance, and upgrade solutions for onboard marine systems such as propulsion, electrical power, automation, and auxiliary equipment.

Assess vessel and system requirements, prepare technical proposals, and provide repair or retrofit recommendations.

Work closely with project engineers and service teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.

Generate quotations, manage bid proposals, and negotiate contracts with clients.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities in ship repair, refit, and maintenance markets.

Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory updates affecting vessel operations.

Support after‑sales activities, ensuring clients receive effective technical support and follow‑up.

Represent the company at maritime industry events, trade shows, and customer site visits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.

3–5 years of experience in marine systems sales, service engineering, or ship repair environment.

Strong knowledge of onboard marine systems including propulsion, power generation, automation, and auxiliary machinery.

Proven ability to develop technical proposals and deliver clear customer presentations.

Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and repair requirements.

Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally to vessels or shipyards as needed.

Preferred Experience

Background working with ship repair facilities, OEMs, or marine service providers.

Familiarity with USCG, ABS, and IMO standards.

Experience using CRM systems and managing structured sales pipelines.
