R&D Engineering Director – Managed Pressure Drilling
About Us
We’re driving the next generation of innovation in energy technology — connecting the precision of engineering with the pace of digital transformation. Our teams design, test, and deliver advanced solutions that make well construction safer, smarter, and more adaptive.
We believe that great engineering doesn’t just solve today’s problems — it anticipates tomorrow’s. By blending technical excellence, operational reliability, and global collaboration, we’re redefining what’s possible in pressure management and drilling performance.
The Role We’re hiring an R&D Engineering Director to lead the evolution of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) systems worldwide. This strategic leader will oversee research, development, and engineering programs that advance MPD technology — from design and testing through deployment — ensuring safe, efficient, and future‑ready well construction.
This position requires someone who thrives in complexity — a decisive, adaptable leader capable of aligning multi‑country teams, steering innovation, and executing against ambitious product and performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead global R&D, engineering, and sustaining initiatives for MPD systems and controls
Define and execute technology roadmaps in collaboration with executive leadership
Manage multi‑site engineering operations, including teams in Houston and India
Oversee design, manufacturing engineering, and continuous improvement efforts
Drive safety, compliance, and quality excellence across all engineering programs
Manage budgets, resource allocation, and financial performance metrics
Foster innovation in system design, automation, and digital transformation
Build, mentor, and scale high‑performing global engineering teams
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s / MBA preferred)
12+ years of engineering experience with at least 7 years leading multi‑site operations
Proven ability to lead through uncertainty, organizational change, and cost transformation
Demonstrated success managing technical teams across global locations
Strong understanding of engineering governance, quality systems, and product lifecycle management
Financial acumen and ability to manage R&D budgets and strategic priorities
Excellent communication, influence, and executive‑level presentation skills
Exposure to digital transformation, controls, or rig interface technologies preferred
Why Join Us This is an opportunity to shape the future of a mission‑critical technology domain in the energy sector — one that’s redefining how wells are drilled, pressure is managed, and safety is delivered. You’ll work alongside exceptional engineering talent in a culture built on accountability, innovation, and adaptability.
If you’re a resilient, results‑driven leader ready to modernize a global product line and accelerate its evolution, this is your stage.
