Role Responsibilities
Responsible for the company’s monthly and quarterly corporate financial statement consolidation process and preparation.
Analyze proper foreign currency impacts in the consolidation system.
Preparation of footnotes and related supporting schedules in accordance with IFRS that are included in the statutory internal reporting package.
Coordinate and review intercompany eliminations required in the consolidation.
Provide ad hoc support for accounting policies and reporting inquiries, including process improvement to ensure efficient reporting.
Support global accounting teams in analysis and resolution of accounting issues related to the monthly reporting process.
Assist with reporting related to legal entity transactions and reorganizations including divestitures and acquisitions.
Liaison with external auditors and coordinate annual financial statement audit and semi‑annual reporting package to Suntory Global Spirits’ parent company.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with legal entity Controllers and the Global Business Services team to ensure accurate and unified presentation of the consolidated financial statements.
Oversee staff preparation of monthly and quarterly financial work‑papers and provide guidance and issue resolution in monthly financial reporting.
Monthly balance‑sheet account reconciliations of Consolidations ledger.
Other ad‑hoc reporting such as preparation of financial statements for required government reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; CPA designation preferred.
Five or more years of progressive, broad‑based experience, including public accounting and companies of similar size, with leadership experience and success in growing accounting/finance teams in a rapid‑growth environment.
Proven ability to work effectively with internal staff, senior leadership, external partners, directors, and tax and legal advisors.
Working knowledge of IFRS.
Knowledge of SAP and EPM (Business Objects) reporting systems a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially with respect to technical accounting.
Knowledge of Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance, including identifying and documenting key controls, remediation activities, and supporting internal controls testing.
Salary Range Based in Chicago, Illinois, the salary range for this role is $105,000–$110,000, along with an annual bonus, 401(k) match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The range is commensurate with the candidate’s location, experience, and skill set and will vary if outside of this location.
