SUMMARY OF THE JOB Reporting to the CRE Manager for Commercial Real Estate Lending, the incumbent is responsible for the production, underwriting, and closing of investment grade and community-based commercial real estate mortgages and for the administration of an assigned real estate portfolio.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The incumbent manages a portfolio of commercial real estate mortgages, including production, underwriting, and closing of investment-grade and community-based mortgages. Responsibilities include conducting preliminary site and market inspections, negotiating loan terms and conditions, performing underwriting analyses, preparing written loan summaries, determining investment risk/reward, recommending loan terms to leadership, presenting investments to loan committees, managing the closing process, resolving problem loans, and managing the foreclosure process. Additionally, soliciting new business, developing client relationships, cross-selling bank products, ensuring compliance with loan covenants and guidelines, keeping abreast of industry trends, providing guidance to less experienced lenders, and exercising managerial authority over staff and correspondents.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop and nurture new client relationships to attain lending goals.

Maintain effective professional relationships with existing customers, borrowers, mortgage loan correspondents, appraisers, attorneys, environmental and engineering professionals.

Perform analysis based on sound underwriting, credit analysis, and regional market analysis.

Negotiate loan terms, conditions, and documents with borrowers, correspondents, and counsel, and manage closing processes.

Exercise effective management and supervisory skills in performance appraisal, counseling, career development, and personnel matters.

Present detailed reports and summaries of proposed loans and lending activity to committees.

Practice sound collection and workout techniques and manage the disposition of REO properties.

Cross-sell other bank products to commercial customers, emphasizing DDA and non-interest-bearing accounts.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in finance/real estate or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.

Five years’ experience in commercial real estate lending, credit assessment, financial statement analysis, real estate management, appraisal, and dispositions.

MAI or CPM certifications are desirable.

Familiarity with FHLMC, FHA, HUD, SBA, and CDA programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General office equipment use.

Keyboard dexterity.

Prolonged sitting.

Salary Range: $136K-$220K
