Associate Athletic Director (Athletic Compliance) Prairie View A&M University is seeking an Associate Athletic Director (Athletic Compliance) to oversee all areas of the comprehensive NCAA compliance program.

Responsibilities

Maintain a comprehensive NCAA compliance program for student‑athletes, athletics staff, donors/boosters, and campus partners.

Collaborate with the Office of Financial Aid, Registrar and Faculty Athletic Representative to ensure alignment with NCAA and SWAC regulations.

Provide daily oversight and direction for the Office of Athletic Compliance staff.

Lead execution of a robust rules education program for a variety of audiences.

Serve as the department’s legislative expert, staying current on NCAA, SWAC and PVAMU rules and regulations.

Facilitate the university’s position on proposed NCAA legislation in partnership with the President, Chief Compliance Officer, Athletics Director and Faculty Athletic Representative.

Attend and present at regional and national seminars.

Lead investigations and reporting of NCAA violations, and prepare waiver and petition requests.

Serve as a key liaison for the Campus Athletic Appeals Committees.

Collaborate with academic leadership on matters of academic integrity.

Collaborate with 18 sport programs to ensure adherence to NCAA rules and regulations.

Oversee compliance monitoring systems related to recruiting activities, including social media, contacts, evaluations and campus visits.

Provide hands‑on support by traveling with high‑profile teams.

Provide accurate interpretations of NCAA, Conference and institutional rules and regulations.

Maintain a comprehensive interpretation database to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Serve as a member of the Athletic Director’s leadership staff.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree.

Four years of experience in compliance at a Division I institution, at a Division I intercollegiate athletics conference office or at the NCAA or SWAC headquarters, including management experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

General knowledge of NCAA rules.

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

Oral and written communication skills.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistant (CAi) and Legislative Services Database (LSDBi) and eligibility center.

Experience with ARMS/Teamworks and monitoring software.

Ability to counsel students and parents in NCAA legislative matters.

Strong knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.

Ability to supervise staff.
