Director Operations Support - Collections
Join Republic Services as the Director of Operations Support – Collections. This role leads the development and execution of hauling operational plans, goals, and major initiatives across the organization. Responsibilities include analyzing operational effectiveness, driving return analyses, standardizing functions, and optimizing capabilities. The leader collaborates with learning and talent teams to provide training and development for area teams and field hauling leaders, ensuring continuous improvement of hauling operations.
Principal Responsibilities
Lead cross‑functional strategic teams in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating operational and financial data. Prepare and present recommendations for short‑ and long‑term strategy.
Participate in strategic line‑of‑business teams for planning, goal setting, evaluation, and presentation of results.
Prepare operational and financial reports for senior leadership (e.g., Board of Directors, Executive Counsel, field leadership). Identify trends and opportunities to reduce operating costs.
Collaborate with Digital Operations and Area teams to execute operations‑transformation initiatives.
Lead operationally‑focused projects to enhance core operating systems and business‑intelligence reporting.
Work closely with Customer Experience and Product Development teams to improve the customer experience.
Coordinate with Geospatial Intelligence Systems (GIS) to improve growth with Route Optimization and Disposal Optimization projects.
Analyze monthly, quarterly, and year‑over‑year cost, margin, and volume trends and recommend strategies to improve performance.
Monitor field performance and collaborate with Area teams to provide support and expertise.
Direct and coordinate operations programs and plans, including Blue Crew, emergency response, disaster recovery, and acquisition/contract start‑ups.
Participate in cross‑functional leadership to develop training, communication, and documentation for operational effectiveness.
Travel as needed.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 8 years of management experience and 2 years of operational and P&L oversight.
Hybrid Position Details This is a hybrid role based at Republic Service’s headquarters in Phoenix, AZ: 4 days per week onsite and 1 day remote. The position will not be eligible for fully remote work.
