Dark Wolf Solutions is seeking a Penetration Tester to plan and execute continuous cross‑domain vulnerability assessments, full‑scale penetration testing and red team operations across cloud‑based and on‑premises Windows, Linux, and mobile environments. The role involves network and application security vulnerability analysis, remediation strategy development, and client interaction. The successful candidate will travel to client sites as needed, prepare assessments and presentations, and maintain analytical procedures to meet evolving requirements. The position is located in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC Metro area with flexible hybrid/remote options.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead technical aspects of long‑term penetration testing engagements for federal government clients.
Conduct varied testing against applications and networks, including static and dynamic analysis.
Develop and maintain custom tools and exploits for unique client environments.
Participate in or lead continuous campaign‑based Red Team assessments, emulating real‑world adversaries.
Integrate into ongoing testing efforts and collaborate with clients, documenting findings and recommendations.
Travel to client sites on an occasional basis for onsite testing.
Be evaluated and sponsored for a security clearance (minimum Secret).
Required Qualifications
2+ years’ experience in at least three specialized areas such as intelligence analysis, network engineering, penetration testing, red team operations, hardware/software engineering, exploit development, or vulnerability assessment.
Strong knowledge of intrusion simulations and physical penetration testing.
Proficiency in assessing mobile operating systems, embedded systems, IoT devices, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Proficiency with Windows, iOS, Android, Mac, or Linux operating systems.
Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
Competency in at least one scripting or coding language.
Working knowledge of software development and collaboration with development teams.
Experience with network analysis methodologies and drafting detailed reports.
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
BS (or equivalent) in Cybersecurity, Information Security, IT, EE, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Willingness to travel.
US citizenship and clearance clearance at Secret level or higher.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with container technologies, orchestration, and microservices.
DevSecOps experience, especially with Kubernetes and software development pipelines.
Security certifications such as CEH, OSCP, PNPT.
Expertise in forensic tools for attack reconstruction, dead system analysis, and volatile data collection.
Experience in post‑incident computer forensics without data destruction.
Quality assurance practices and knowledge sharing.
MS degree in a technical field.
Compensation Salary range: $110,000 – $180,000 commensurate with experience and location.
