Overview

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and within hospital and department policies and procedures, assists in caring for patients and/or families from admission to discharge.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Registered Nurse to organize work and set priorities.
• Provide Personal Care Skills, Basic Nursing Assistant Skills, Rehabilitation Skills.
• Maintain safe environment and report unsafe conditions.
• Recognize and report signs and symptoms to Registered Nurse.
• Maintain quality assurance and infection control.
• Accurately document data in the EHR and patient care flowsheet.
• May function as patient observer.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island license as a Nursing Assistant.
• High school graduate or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to perform basic computer skills.
• Certified in AHA BLS.
• Demonstrates knowledge & skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span.
• One-year experience as a Nursing Assistant (preferred).

Minimum Qualifications

One-year experience as a Nursing Assistant preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Conditions

Works in healthcare environments such as acute care hospitals, physicians’ offices, and ancillary healthcare enterprises.

Pay Range

$17.00 - $25.31 per hour
