Receptionist Job at RiverMead Lifecare Community in Peterborough

We are seeking a friendly and customer‑focused Receptionist on a part‑time basis for our Resident Services team. As the first point of contact for residents, families, and visitors, you will provide excellent customer service and help create a positive atmosphere within the community. Your responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, answering phone calls, managing appointments, and providing general administrative support. This position requires strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a warm, welcoming demeanor. Weekday, evening, and weekend shifts are available.

Responsibilities

• Help visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing, and announcing them appropriately.
• Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls, presenting essential information when needed.
• Receive and sort daily mail, deliveries and couriers.
• Manage security procedures and control access (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges).
• Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, and scanning.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating, mainly by phone, with individuals of all ages, especially the senior population.
• Excellent telephone and communication skills.
• Strong computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Resourceful and proactive, able to deal with issues as they arise.
• Capacity to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of similar experience is required.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent with one year of similar experience preferred.
