About The Role

The Non Union Janitor 3285 plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all employees, visitors, and clients. This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that all facilities meet high standards of hygiene and appearance. The janitor will work independently or as part of a team to complete daily cleaning schedules, respond promptly to special cleaning requests, and support the overall operational efficiency of the facility. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance issues are essential to the success of this role. Ultimately, the janitor contributes significantly to the positive image and smooth functioning of the Jasper Group premises.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and safe handling procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions independently.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a commercial or corporate facility environment.
  • Familiarity with environmentally friendly cleaning products and practices.
  • Basic maintenance skills such as minor repairs or equipment troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends if required.
  • Certification in workplace safety or cleaning standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal across all designated areas.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas to maintain health and safety standards.
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and report any shortages or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, including floor scrubbers, buffers, and carpet cleaners.
  • Respond to special cleaning requests and assist with setup or breakdown of event spaces as needed.

The required skills enable the janitor to efficiently carry out daily cleaning and maintenance tasks while ensuring safety and compliance with health standards. Attention to detail is critical for identifying areas that require special care or immediate attention.
